Wii U Using the console without the tablet pad

Hi guys. I'm new to the Nintendo world. I recently bought a Wii u. While cleaning around it, I dropped something on top of the wii u tablet and shattered the lcd. It's toast. I have a pro controller, and the console is fine. Is their anyway to still use the console without the wii u tablet pad? I also have a new nintendo 3ds xl, if I could use that to control the wii u. As I mentioned earlier I do have a pro regular controller, any help appreciated.

Wow, that's too bad!

You must have the Gamepad, though, to use the console. The system wasn't really designed to be used without one.

You *can* play most games with the Pro controller, but even Settings requires the gamepad. Contact Nintendo, their support is legendary.
