Not sure if this thread exists, but I didn't see one.
Anyways, how does everyone feel about achievements? I've been gaming a long time, but ever since the 360 came out I've fallen in love with achievements. Something about fully completing a game and having it recorded just speaks to the completionist within me. I also like trophies as well, but I don't game a lot on Sony systems.
I do own a Wii and I am picking up a Wii U this Christmas. Something that has always bugged me about those two systems is the lack of any sort of achievement/trophy system. I heard news awhile back that Nintendo was going to implement it, but I've never seen it.
I for one would LOVE to see a system like this pop up on Nintendo systems. How do you guys feel?
(Yes, I am well aware that achievements/trophies are "meaningless" and don't give you anything except a number or picture. However, for me its more about adding longevity to a title and trying out things I otherwise might not have done and fully completing the game.)
