NES
Hello!

I'm having some trouble with a NES from my childhood which I'm trying to restore to its former glory. I'm using the original DC(?) adapter and new sound and video cables. Problem is the console is constantly humming when it's on. What is the cause of this and how can i solve it?

European model? Has it been repaired before?

My NES short-circuited once back in the day and stopped working. We took it to a repair person (some guy in a wife-beater shirt with a soldering iron in his apartment lol), and after he fixed it, the system started humming. I think he might have rewired one of the power parts that attached to the motherboard, but can't remember for sure. The hum was sort of annoying, but it wasn't very loud, and I was still happy because I could play my Nintendo again. That was approximately 27 years ago. :D

Your best bet is to change the cables to new ones. A bunch of third party manufacturers sell them.
