Spotpass in New Super Mario Bros U

Has anyone turned on spotpass while playing Super Mario Bros? I turned it on by mistake and now I'm glad I did. It automatically gives you news and updates about the games as you are playing. I would recommend trying this to anyone who wants to better understand how to play the game.

I typically have my spotpass already on so that my Console, as well as on my 3ds, can tell me when to update and whatnot.
It is fairly useful but you can go and look up the information as well if you don't want it on and want to update etc.
