Anyone play Mercs (sequel to Commando)?

A game that has sucked me in recently is Mercs by Capcom. This is an arcade game that was released in 1990 and eventually ported to a variety of home computers and consoles. I'm playing the Japanese version on my Sega Mega Drive which is called MERCS Senjo No Okami 2.

I've had this game in my collection for quite a while. I've always been a fan of the original arcade game but never got round to playing the Mega Drive port, since I've had a large backlog of games to get through. I finally put aside some time to play it and it's truly an excellent port. Very close to the original barring a few omissions like the helicopter landing in the beginning.

Many NES owners should have played Commando, Mercs is it's sequel. Anyone here get to play Mercs?

oh my word, i have been thinking about Commando for a good couple decades i suppose. i had no idea there is a sequel. id love for Commando to pop up on the VC. i felt like i was rambo running around shooting up stuff, throwing grenades.
