Choose your own adventure games the future of gaming?

Telltale seems to be doing pretty well with their style of choose your own adventure games. I liked the first Walking Dead. The second I could do without. Lee was an important figure to the story & I think they weren't fully aware of that. I just recently played The Wolf Among Us which is a choose your own adventure meets Grimm (fairy tales & show). It's not bad but games like this have a lazy feel to me. How do you feel?

Well, I'm glad that these types of adventure games exist. They add much needed diversity to the gaming market which is very important. However, I don't see these choose your own adventure games as the future of gaming due to their lack of sophistication. Although they could be considered sophisticated in terms of storytelling. I just don't feel they provide enough whiz-bang to what the mainstream gaming crowd wants.
