DS DSi XL Settings icon (wrench) gone

The icon for system settings is missing in the menu of my DSi XL.
Sometimes when the DSI behaves in a strange way I've learned that replacing the WiFi board might do the trick. However, it didn't work for me... =(
Any suggestions on how to solve my problem?

That icon is impossible to delete. Did you try scrolling to other pages to see if the icon has been moved?

I thought so too but it's gone. Got the DSI from a friend and he can't say how it disappeared. I've scrolled far right and far right without luck, is there any other way to do it?
