I recently replayed the first games and they were nothing short of amazing for the GBA. Some of my favorite handheld games ever, with the ever catchy score by Motoi Sakaruba who did the music for the Tales and Star Ocean games.

I never played the DS installment, can't say I ever want to given overall consensus but is anyone else a fan of this series?

Yes, Motoi Sakaruba is one of my favorite game composers. He has put together some of the most memorable tracks in gaming lore and I've even gone as far as collecting some of his OSTs. I've also enjoyed the Golden Sun series of games since they were developed by the same guys that worked on the Shining series. I also didn't get round to playing the DS installments since I was heavily invested in the Castlevania titles that were coming out on there.

The DS version is still worth playing. Mark my words.

Great villains, great music, and a cool weapon at the end.
