I'm Ty from Australia.

I've spent the last 13 years reporting on all things gaming, specialising in Nintendo stories. Currently playing I am Setsuna on Nintendo Switch.

I ran a website called Aussie-Gamer for a long, arduous time until some "IRL drama" dictated my absence and later removal of that glorious tome of information from the intertubes. Currently an on-again-off-again Nintendo blogger over at Squish Turtle. You may remember me as "the guy who predicted the Nintendo Switch October 21 reveal" last year.

My internet dealings started in the dark ages of dial-up connectivity (when we had to pay per minute of internet connection). There I spent most my days making GeoCities sites (I was one of the few who refused to use Comic Sans, scrolling text, frames and black backgrounds. Trail blazer.), and RPing on Yahoo Chat (how I miss thee, Eden. *fades into a swirling mist of magical energy*). It was there I met some guys who wanted to launch a little known website called PALGN in Australia, and needed someone to help get things started. I forgot to ask for any money, but it set me on a path of crafting words about the gaming world. My pet peeve is alarmist, click-baity headlines and keyword stuffing that is sadly on trend in the video game reporting industry lately.

During my stint at Aussie-Gamer I interviewed many gaming legends from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi to Mario vocalist Charles Martinet. We broke exclusive news, exposed EA's price gouging efforts and ruffled some feathers amongst the "Nintendo is doomed" crowd by arguing oppinions.

With drama-related things settling down recently, I'm ready to immerse myself back into the gaming world on a more permanent basis and am looking to meet a new batch of like-minded folks, play some games and just be a gamer again.

Thanks for reading!

welcome, and thank you for all you've done. We are glad to have you here. Please make the rounds and give us some thoughts.

Great to have you here. And nice to see a fellow GeoCities citizen from those simpler dial-up days.

RIP GeoCities and also Yahoo Groups :(

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Am I right to assume the forum has seen busier days? Seems to be a recurring theme with forums these days. The software has never been better but a lot of people are probably worn out by social media by the time they come across a niche forum.

It's actually been pretty lively with the Switch release. People are excited.
