3DS How to revert the virtual consoles original resolution mode?

Just got a 3ds. I pressed start when launching pokemon yellow and it reverted to the gameboy color borders and stuff. Im trying to revert it to the old resolution without the gameboy color borders. I press start when launching the game, i still see gameboy color mode, i press select, still doesnt revert it. I've also pressed both and it still doesnt work. How do i revert it? Im pressing the button just as i launch the game and i hold it.

I believe that you can't press any when the game starts? I'm not sure.

You just have to start Yellow without holding Start. I don't believe you can revert it while you play.
