Nintendo's Wii U is just short of 11 months old now. Next month, on November 18th, will officially be the 1 year Anniversary of the Wii U. While compiling a list of games earlier, for another thread, I decided, since I was still in a list making mood, that I'd make a list of the Wii U retail games for the 1st year of it's release. And see what you think of the Wii U's first year. Granted, it started out super slow, and pretty much continued that way for months. But the end of the year is picking up fast. This month alone will see a total of 15 retail games released. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD having already released (yesterday) this month. But 14 more are on it's way.
That said, here is the Wii U's library for it's first year on the Market....

So far, there have been 63 retail titles released. Currently, I own 34 of them. So, about half. However, here is a list of the games that will come out by November 18, the Wii U's 1 year anniversary (most of them releasing this month, in October)...
OCT 9 - Just Dance 2014
OCT 13 -Skylanders: Swap Force
OCT 15 -Wipeout: Create & Crash
OCT 16 - Zumba: Fitness: World Party
OCT 22 - Just Dance Kids 2014
OCT 22 - SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton's Robotic Revenge
OCT 22 - Lego Marvel Super Heroes
OCT 22 - Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut
OCT 25 - Wii Party U
OCT 25 - Batman: Arkham Origins
OCT 29 - Angry Birds Star Wars
OCT 29 - Monster High: 13 Wishes
OCT 29 - Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
OCT 29 - Sonic: Lost World
NOV 5 - Call of Duty Ghosts
NOV 5 - Ben 10: Omniverse 2
NOV 12 - Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON'T KNOW
NOV 12 - DuckTales: Remastered
NOV 15 - Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
That's another 19 retail titles, making the grand total of 82 retail titles on the shelves by the 1 Year Anniversary mark of the Wii U. However, there are a couple of more that will be out before the end of the year. Including one the very next day, after the 1 Year Anniversary. Missing it by a mere 24 hours. Of these 19 games, I plan on buying at least 8 of them. Maybe 10. Still debating on the other 2. But at least 8 of them I know I'll get. Anyways, here is the rest of the year's list, after the Annivesary ..
NOV 19 - Watch Dogs
NOV 19 - Young Justice: Legacy
NOV 22 - Super Mario 3D World
DEC 13 - Wii Fit U
So, what do you think of Nintendo's first year of the Wii U, as well as the remaining time of this year. I plan on getting 3 of the 4 titles that come out after the Annivesary. So, taking my 34 titles that I currently own, and adding the (at least) 8 more that I plan to buy by the Annivesary, and the 3 more after the Anniversary, and, I should have about 45 retail games for the Wii U by the end of the year. Possibly 47, but again, I'm still debating on the others.
Also, 2014 is shaping up to start with a bang. Hopefully, they can keep that momentum going throughout the entire year. That would be awesome. However, even if the retail games start to slow down by Summer time, the Indie companies have a whole slew of eShop titles on the way, that are sure to fill the "slow" gaps of the retail releases. So, 2014, on a whole, looks to be a great year for the Wii U. However, until then, what are your thoughts on the Wii U's first year.
