Original Mario IP?

So we all know that Nintendo tends to make a lot of Mario games that revolve around Mario and his friends. They tend to put out a new "Mario" franchise every few years or so, and the last critically acclaimed one being Super Mario Galaxy. However, they could continue to milk Super Mario Galaxy, or they could make a new IP with Mario in it. That being said, does anyone know what the next Mario game will be or if there is already one on the way? It'd be interesting to see.

I know Mario is their major moneymaker, along with Legend of Zelda games, but I feel like there hasn't really been anything "unique" in the way of Mario since the Paper Mario games... maybe that's just me though.

Mario is a classic and you just can not get rid of him. I love that he has games that keep coming out every few years.
