Wii U Replacing the gamepad screen

so all i really need to know is how do i know if i need to replace the digitizer or the actual LCD screen

Cuz i dont wanna dump more money into something i dont need


its being shipped and i would like to start work on it right away so i want to buy the correct part and have them shipped at the same time

The digitizer is just the input layer, and wouldn't have the visible cracks. If you can test if touch still works then it should be fine. It's a resistive touch so I imagine it might be separate, but nowadays everything is fused to save space.
