GameCube Star Fox Adventures and Assault

The GameCube Star Fox games, two of the first games I've ever played.
I managed to master Adventures, but not Assault.
Anyway, this is about said games.
Feel free to share experiences or your opinions of these games, which I'm sure will be mixed.

Did you that Star Fox Adventures was made using the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time engine?

No I didn't, but I wouldn't be surprised as Adventures is more like a LoZ game than a Star Fox one.

A friend of mine has Star Fox Adventures, he says that it's excellent but I've never sat down to play it at his place. I've got Star Fox Assault and I thought it was pretty good even though it was missing some of the magic of Star Fox 64. The graphics and sound are excellent, it can't be faulted in this department. Those stages where you leave your ship and walk on the ground are what holds back a potentially great game.
