DS The Nintendo DS's battery only lasts 1 hour. . . what do you have to do?

Our old DS battery currently only lasts about 1 hour. I replaced the battery with a new one (non-OEM) but to no avail.

Specifically, I took the Nintendo battery out of the newer DS and it still lasted about 3 hours and tried that battery on the old DS, but the old DS still only lasted about 1 hour. Therefore . . . I don't think it's the battery.

Does anyone here know the reason why and how to handle it?

i wish i did. i haven't replaced batteries, but im to the point of having to play while plugged in. Sorry to hear this.
