I played some of the first installments of the series like Red/Blue Rescue Team. I later played a ROM of Explorers of Sky. It was arguably one of my favorite Pokemon games, and I almost liked this spin off better than the main series. Yet when the Gates to Infinity came out, I decided not to buy it for a variety of reasons. I didn't like the new graphics, it seemed to have less content than previous installments, and I heard the plot was pretty poor. I haven't heard much about the Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. Any opinions on it? Was Gates to Infinity just an outlier, or is the franchise on the decline?
