Best Weapon in Zelda

I feel like the sword is a given. Link basically comes with the sword and it is the most important weapon in the entire game. Without the sword, the game couldn't progress. It totally should be the best weapon. I remember when it upgraded during WindWaker and I thought it was the greatest thing that could have happened. I guess the sword got a bit overlooked by the other weapons.
